About AIZoOM

We are developing an AI and IoT – powered surveillance, notification and contact tracing platform to monitor and control zoonotic disease outbreaks in Mongolia.

Public HealthArtificial IntelligenceZoonotic DiseasesCapacity Building

The Challenge

Mongolia's unique geography and nomadic lifestyle present significant challenges for monitoring zoonotic diseases. Outbreaks, such as those caused by Yersinia pestis (Plague), can spread rapidly in rural areas.

Traditional methods of surveillance and contact tracing are often labor-intensive and slow. A delay in identifying and notifying potential contacts can have severe consequences for public health.

Our Solution

AIZoOM is a pioneering effort to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence. We are creating an integrated platform featuring AI-powered algorithms and user-friendly mobile applications.

  • Early Notification: Instantly alerting authorities and communities when a potential outbreak is detected.
  • Digital Contact Tracing: Using mobile technology to rapidly map potential spread, faster than manual methods allow.

Scope of Work

Detailed Objectives

1. Needs Assessment
Determine the specific needs for an AI-based contact tracing and early notification system for Yersinia pestis and other zoonotic diseases in rural Mongolia through stakeholder consultation.
2. Tech Development
Develop sophisticated algorithms and mobile applications specifically designed for contact tracing and outbreak notifications in low-connectivity environments.
3. Integration & Pilot
Pilot and evaluate the effectiveness of the system in local settings, ensuring its seamless integration into the national public health framework and building local capacity.
